murphymob Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 HICan anyone please assist me in resolving a problem with my interior lights. After locking the vehicle the lights all remain on for apprx 10-15 minutes which is stupid. I think it has something to do with the relay but I have no idea where it is located in order to change it. All help on this will be gratefully received.Thank YouJackie Quote
jason.p Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Hi Jackie.I had the same problem with mine. The 10min delay is the "fall back" setting if a door is left open. I found that I wasn't shutting the tailgate hard enough so it thought a door was still open. Try each door in turn, it could be a faulty switch in one of them.Good luck. Jason Quote

Jason given its seeing a door still open could there be a problem with the wiring looms between doors/pillara -common problem Quote

Jason It appears if we slam the tailgate it solves the problem, so hopefully we just need a new switch there  Quote
MadBaz Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 The tailgate microswitch is a fairly simple affair and doesn't look easy to replace, but I'd put money on it being the loom between lid and body. I had the opposite problem, the car didn't know when lid was open and I immediately suspected wiring, fixed with 2 lengths of trailer 7 core cable and block connectors. Same fix as my old mk1. Quote
